About the Fashionistas

I’m a fashion addict. I can’t walk past an Aldo without going in, have a handbag that matches every pair of shoes I own and am an absolute celebrity magazine and style whore.

So I figured, why not create a blog that talks about fashion (or lack there of) and celebrities (and reality TV wannabes) in regards to style.

And so Style Cynics was born - and I became “The Cynic”, your stylish, bitchy and snarky host.

Personal Style

I’m a reformed tomboy who didn’t discover fashion or own more than two pairs of shoes until my mid-twenties. After a mega life change I found that shopping was fun and soon came to discover why a woman can never own too many shoes and why you should always have at least one purse that matches each pair. I’m still a jeans fan, but I’ve moved to more stylish options of the old favorite.

My fashion life in a nutshell: fashion mis-sense to serial fashionista.

Hollywood Fashion

I believe Reese Witherspoon to be the ultimate style icon in current Hollywood and while I wouldn’t wear half the stuff she does myself, she is always in top notch style.

I take a lot of heat for my distaste of almost every item of clothing, shoes and handbag ever seen on Sarah Jessica Parker and “why do people see her as a style icon” is a question I ask myself more often than the meaning of life.

It scares me that Mary-Kate Olsen is often seen carrying bags she could fit inside of and I’m often curious as to how someone with such bad style can design the cutest kids clothing.

No need to discuss Paris Hilton, I’m sure she’ll be my chosen fashion victim of the week often enough. I used to feel bad making fun of her style; then I read her book and realized she deserves every word of it.

Do You Ever Take on New Fashionistas?

I don’t play very well with others, but I leave room for an additional cynic (send me an email if you think you have what it takes).
