Be & D Venus Bowler Bag
When I look at this bag, I get an image of the Jetsons in my mind’s eye. Made of textured silver and brown leather, it’s futuristic while still giving a hint of a seventies look. If that sentence doesn’t make sense, it’s perhaps because I’m getting both a blast from the past and a space-age feeling from this handbag. The Be & D Venus Bowler Bag does indeed look like something that you’d bring along on a trip to the lanes, but it’s stylish enough to pair with couture jeans and a peasant blouse, or even a funky skirt. I personally enjoy the brown leather trimming and silver hardware. It’s got a top zip, a canvas lining, and of course, the signature cell phone pocket so that a fashionista need never be without her contact to the outside world. If you don’t like the space-age look, the bag also comes in a grungy gunmetal grey-black, for those who prefer an edgier look to their handbags.

Along with its cool look, the bag is also very functional. It has an outside buckled pocket and an inside zip to keep your stuff properly compartmentalized. You can choose to hold this bag by its handles or swing it over your shoulder – with a ten-inch shoulder drop, you should have lots of room. The thing I like most about this purse is its price. Unlike its counterparts at $1500 and up, the Be & D bag is a reasonable $995 at SaksFifthAvenue.com. It’s the perfect treat for a good working girl.
Here’s another bowler bag that’s slightly bigger, but still gives the seventies impression. You can get the Lucky Brand Top Zip Leather Bowling Bag in black or red leather. It’s 13.5 inches wide and four inches deep, so it’s got plenty of room for all of your odds and ends. It’s also got dual shoulder straps and a seven-inch drop. I really like the braided decorative swag. Find it for $191.95 at Zappos.com.
It’s not exactly a bowler bag, but this Hobo International Margaret tote sure looks like one. Made of smooth black leather, it’s 15.5 inches high and 4.5 inches deep. It’s got simple decorative buckles, interior pockets, and a retro, slouchy style. I like that it’s simplistic, yet stylish. Sometimes, you just need a regular bag to tote around the city. Find yours for $324.00 at Endless.com.
