Celine Large Bittersweet Hobo
Remember when hobo bags were a stained red-hankied bundle on a stick? Even if you’ve never seen a real hobo, you probably know what I’m talking about. Who would want to carry that disease-ridden bag? Thankfully, I’ve got to say, I think I like these designer hobo handbags a lot better. At least you’re not going to find a rat or worse inside these beauties.
The Celine Large Bittersweet Hobo is definitely a good representative of the handbag genre. It’s made of soft nude leather with silver-tone hardware and ringed shoulder straps. It also has a slouchy top with an extended tab and interior pocket detail. In fact, this bag would make a great casual carrier for a shopping trip with friends or simply a weekend out and about. I could see this going nicely with jeans or even a funky little skirt. Its relaxed look means that you don’t have to be dressed to the nines to pull this bag off.
I love it because although it looks small, it actually can hold quite a lot, with dimensions of fourteen and a half by nineteen and a half inches. I’ve always got a million things to carry – my cell phone, my iPod, my lipstick and my emergency Advil. I’ve actually split zippers on smaller purses. I’m a huge fan of the shoulder strap – I hate it when tough straps bite into my shoulder. Compared to other bags of its type, the price isn’t actually as swoon-worthy, either. Can there be any other hobos as cute as the Celine? I found this Stewart Weitzman for $384.00. Although I normally heartily detest the snakeskin look, I can’t help but really like the way it looks on this pink hobo bag. The Boa is a smaller hobo, but it has a single looping shoulder strap, dog clip hardware, detailed interior lining and a hidden magnetic closure. In short, it’s awesome. I found it at Zappos.com.
