Style Cynics 2007 Chanel Handbag Exclusive
If it weren’t for the immaculate designs of Chanel, I don’t know that my passion for handbags would be what it is today. As a typical bored and lonely teenager, I spent hour after hour leafing through fashion magazines dreaming of the day when I would become a famous supermodel.
While I have since abandoned my dreams of supermodel superstardom, I still find myself intimately drawn to the timeless designs from our friends at Chanel. During the recent New York Fashion Week, some hawkeyed trendspotters noticed a number of celebrities and models toting around some of the new Chanel handbags. I couldn’t be more excited about these amazing new handbags! I am getting hot just thinking about them!

I was just not satisfied to see a few pictures of these new bags, so I decided to set out on the streets of the Big Apple to see if any of the stores had them in stock. I didn’t have to look far however, as Saks Fifth Ave. had them in all their glorious beauty. The first one to catch my eye upon entering the store was the Perfo Chanel Flap in a rich, luxurious red. It was made from this oh-so-cool perforated leather, with an exquisite woven chain-like handle and the classic Chanel logo prominently placed front and center. It was sooo hot!

My next discovery was very similar to the first. It was the Chanel Jumbo Flap bag in a gorgeous lilac purple. This, too, was crafted from the same perforated leather as noted above, but in a slightly larger design. It also had a quilt-like pattern sewn into the leather, which gave the distinct impression of softness and warmth. While it was priced considerably higher than the first bag, I would gladly pay the $2500 they were asking. After all, it’s a small price to pay to help a girl look and feel like a million bucks!

After looking around Saks for a while, I stumbled upon yet another modern classic from Chanel. It was a stunning gunstock brown shoulder bag, crafted from the most supple leather I have ever laid my hands on. It had a strap that was a combination of silver chain links woven with leather, and it was the perfect length when strung over my shoulder. I absolutely fell in love with the embroidered Chanel logo, prominently placed on the front of the bag in a diagonal position. You could tell this was a Chanel bag from a mile away. Which is great! When I am sporting a sweet, new Chanel bag, I want everyone to know!
