Dolce and Gabbana Pony Peep Toe Slingback
I can’t help but be a big fan of slingbacks – I constantly have the problem of the heel of the shoe slipping from my own heel. I can’t count how many times I’ve tripped because my shoe slips off. Enter the slingback – it keeps the shoe on my foot and looks stylish with whatever I’m wearing. When the shoe’s designed by Dolce and Gabbana, I’m in heaven. The D and G Pony Peep Toe Slingback has at least three elements that make it my perfect shoe: one, it’s got the aforementioned slingback; two, it’s got a peep toe; and three, it’s animal printed. Okay, so sometimes animal prints are cheesy. However, when it’s Dolce and Gabbana, you could have purple polka-dots printed all over the shoe and it would somehow be trendy. In this case, the leopard print is slightly understated, so that it’s obvious you are wearing animal print, but it’s not garishly orange and black. The shoe also has an elegant silver buckle on the toe and a three-and-a-half inch heel. The whole package is simply stunning.

Although I’m of the opinion that Dolce and Gabbana shoes can simply stand on their own, the perfect team of a pencil skirt and funky blouse would set these shoes off perfectly. I could also see these on the feet of a girl in skinny jeans and an elegant tank heading for the club. The great thing about D and G shoes is that they basically look good with whatever you wear – provided that what you’re wearing is, of course, of top quality. You’d better have a thick wallet, too – the Pony Peep Toe Slingbacks go for $695.00 at Nordstrom.com.
Although these Vaneli Polette Slingbacks are very like the Dolce and Gabbana shoes, the animal print is not really something I’d want to wear. The D and Gs are understated; this print jumps right out at you. However, the shoe itself is quite lovely – three-inch heel, stretch goring for maximum comfort, peep toe, and metal buckle. Plus, they’re about a sixth of the price – at $107.95, I could even forgive the garish print. I found these at Zappos.com.
Zebra prints are remarkably sexy, in my opinion, and the Report Signature Women’s Charlize pump puts them to good use. Made of pony hair on the upper, the shoe boasts a peep toe, slingback heel, and stiletto heel. The site suggests pairing them with a little black dress, but honestly, I could see these shoes dressing up almost any outfit. Find them at Endless.com for $131.89.
