No it’s not an intergalactic pencil case! Its Gucci’s newest crystal evening bag design – and it looks like well, a pencil case for an engineer or architect.
What, I could see someone putting their compass and pencil sharpeners in there.
I sure as hell wouldn’t put my lipstick in this testosterone infused design. You don’t agree? Well, what do these elements sound like to you – black Plexiglas covered, hammered studding, thin gold lettering…it sounds like a add for a mans name plate.
I just think that Gucci totally missed the mark with this one. Yes, there have been a ton of men’s inspired tweed and pantsuit fashions for fall…and some of those really pull it off. However this Gucci handbag is hardly worthy to call itself a woman’s evening bag.
Who in their right mind would wear this with an evening gown or even a ball skirt and silk tank? This evening bag is far too harsh and sharp for feminine liking. It’s in dire need of some rounded edges, runched silk and a hue other than bleak old brown…I won’t even get into the Plexiglas.
Gucci what were you thinking?
