Just Cavalli -Brogue- Pump
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but in my understanding, a brogue is something akin to what an Irish man speaks in. According to Roberto Cavalli, this isn’t so. Now, I like Colin Farrell as much as the next girl, but if brogue refers to these absolutely magnificent pumps, I’ll take the shoes, please. These smoky grey soft leather pumps are deliciously sprinkled with eyelet detail throughout and have a rounded toe. Sound too cutesy? The four-inch heel says otherwise. At this sort of height, I doubt I could walk down the street without falling, but I have a few fashionista girlfriends who could pull this look off perfectly.

The Brogue shoe itself is labelled “salon shoe”, but you can bet that this would look good with couture jeans, an appropriate skirt, or even a pair of dress pants. I especially like that the heel is securely affixed to the sole of the shoe. For those of us who have accidentally broken the heel off of our favorite pair of shoes (and cursed ourselves roundly for the trouble), it provides a little reassurance when you’re walking on a heavily-cracked sidewalk. Cavalli, you’re a genius. This shoe costs almost $500, but I think it’s worth every penny. I found it at Nordstrom.com for $495, to be exact.
Although I’m not sure any other soft grey pump tops the Cavalli Brogue shoe, I did find a beautiful Michael Kors creation that appealed strongly to my love of beautiful grey shoes. The Olivia Peep Toe shoe is made of a smoky grey suede and sports cut-outs on the sides of the peep toe. It also has a silver decorative buckle flowing around the edge of the collar and a stacked three-and-a-half-inch heel. Because Michael Kors is awesome, it also has a lightly padded footed for ultimate comfort. In short, this shoe rocks, although not as much as the Brogue does. However, it’s significantly cheaper at $132.95. Find it at Zappos.com.
Here’s a Mary Jane-style pump that, too, is almost as nice as the Brogue. The Matiko Women’s Elsa Mary Jane pump has a soft dark grey suede upper, a leather sole, an elastic ornamental strap unlike any Mary Jane I’ve seen, and a stacked three-and-a-half-inch heel. It’s really just beautiful, and just simple enough to be versatile. You can find it at Endless.com for up to $128.95.
