Michael Kors Suede Point-Toe Pumps

In a recent article about heeled Oxfords, I was talking about how I find that the designers’ idea of business shoes is sadly lacking. However, my faith has been restored by Michael Kors, that wonderful man, who has designed an absolutely transcendent pair of simple black shoes that can be worn in the workplace environment and are equally at home in a formal setting. The Suede Point-Toe pumps are covered in buttery black suede with a two-and-a-quarter-inch heel. Really? Two and a quarter inches? These really are my dream shoes.

The pumps have a cute little gold and black buckled strap across the instep which turns these simple black heels into something eye-catching. I’m not a huge fan of the extremely pointed toe, but I can’t deny that it looks extremely sexy, peeping out from under black dress pants or gracing the feet of a girl in a pencil skirt. Pain for beauty! Well, not really. The shoes also have a padded insole for maximum comfort, if you stand all day, which many girls do.

I guess what I especially love about these shoes is the price – for a designer shoe, I’d be willing to pay $365.00. Heck, I’d pay more – these shoes are just that amazing. You can find them (and maybe fall in love) at SaksFifthAvenue.com.

On my travels for actually nice work shoes, I found these eye-catching beauties from Bouquets that just made me drool. The Belvas (okay, the name lacks imagination – don’t worry, the shoes don’t) are suede and have a bit of a “bootie” look, but their side strap and silver buckle detail let you know that these are not just your regular boots. They’ve got a two-and-a-half-inch heel and a split seam toe. In fact, these are pretty much completely perfect. They’re $64.95 at Zappos.com.

Convertible, versatile shoes are gold when it comes to trying to dress for work. This Steve Madden Women’s Luvvy Pump has the added awesome factor of turning from a simple sexy business shoe to a funky Mary Jane with the flick of the heel strap. It’s made of patent black leather with a three-inch heel. As well, you can get these in just about any color, increasing your choice by about seven. The best part about these shoes is the fact that they’re $69.95 at Endless.com.
