My Love Affair with Chloe
Chloe has got to be one of the greatest design houses to come out of France in modern times. Without a doubt, there are many other French designers that continue to impress with their amazing designs. Chloe, however, has always been close to my heart.
As a young girl, I remember seeing these amazingly timeless images of Bridgette Bardot and Jackie O in Vogue magazine. I don’t know why exactly, but those images have always resonated with me. As it turns out, both ladies were wearing the fine fashions of Chloe. That’s when my love affair with Chloe began.
Chloe was founded in Paris in 1952 by an Egyption born designer named Gaby Aghion. Their designs are inspired by a sort-of bohemian beatnik chic; very fitting for Paris, indeed. The beauty of Chloe lies in the fact that their clothing is both luxurious and brimming with street cred. Naturally, Chloe has been hugely popular with hipsters from Paris to London to New York and back again. Two of my favorite British starlets, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, have shown themselves to be great supporters of Chloe, having been photographed wearing their kit on countless occassions.
Chloe handbags have been the cornerstone of every decent handbag collection for as long as I can recall. I have always been particularly fond of the “Paddington”, but any Chloe handbag will do! I have always appreciated Karl Lagerfeld’s influence on the label. Karl Lagerfeld transformed Chloe into one of the most luxurious brands in world, and helped define the look of a generation. While there were a number of amazing designers at the helm throughout the 70’s, 80, and 90’s, a young lady by the name of Stella McCartney brought the label a certain freshness when she first arrived in 1997. I was checking out some sweet videos on YouTube earlier and came across the Chloe Ready-To-Wear 2007 Collection! Ooooo…I love Chloe! Check it out, bitches.
