ONETrueSaxon - British Menswear Redefined
If you haven’t yet heard about ONETrueSaxon, that is all about to change. This is easily one of the greatest lines of menswear to come out of the UK since Paul Smith. Established little over five years ago, ONETrueSaxon is poised to unleash yet another British invasion on an unsuspecting American population.
These fine fashions are designed “by three ordinary blokes obsessed with decent clothing”, but judging from the few articles I have managed to get my hands on, their designs are well beyond decent; they are nothing short of being some of the freshest gear I have seen in some time.

While their kit has been available in America since 2005, they have a massive following back home in the UK, not to mention Japan. These three lads take great pride in their Northern heritage, all having grown up in Nottingham; a small town in the north of England. They paid their dues in the fashion industry working for Paul Smith, and eventually they branched out on their own. They take their design inspiration from the everyday, often mundane, minutiae of British life. This is evidenced in their increasing use of the boxer dog logo, and the caravan plastered all over recent promos.

The lads have recently partnered with Heavenly Records, a recording label that is home to such fine artists as Manic Street Preachers and Doves, to release a limited edition line of t-shirts and military-inspired jackets. Our friends over at CoolHunting.com had the opportunity to attend the top British casualwear show, To Be Confirmed, during the 2007 London Fashion Week. They are reporting that the new line is a stunning effort (as expected), and the standout item in their new collection is a series of neon coloured hoodies. These hooded sweatshirts make extensive use of the boxer dog logo, with names and designs inspired by boxer breeds like Jopet and Hajima.

The ONETrueSaxon collection is made up of jeans, t-shirts, golf shirts, hoodies, jackets, and footwear; all of which are “handcrafted for his pleasure”. I only wish they would produce a collection for the lassies! Every once in a while, I come across a line of designer fashions that are truly awe inspiring…and this is one of them! Here at StyleCynics.com, we are looking forward to great things from the blokes of Nottingham. These Brits know style. Let the new British invasion begin!

If my boyfriend would wear this type of stuff, I’d be heaven. Massive style.
